SEO Growth

Right now, whenever you are reading this, millions of online searches are taking place every minute 😮

By the time you’ve stopped and re-read that sentence, you could add a hundred thousand more searches to the tally. And it keeps going and going!

The point is clear: billions of searches are happening around the world every day. And your target audience exists somewhere among them.

In this quick article, we’ll focus on how you can start driving SEO growth. And don’t worry, we won’t bury the lead. Here’s the secret sauce:

  1. Know your target audience.
  2. Understand their search behavior.
  3. Optimize your website and other profiles based on 1 and 2.

Full disclosure, it’s partially true that achieving the above is easier said than done. If it weren’t, SEO firms like ours wouldn’t exist! Nevertheless, there is a lot that you can do by yourself (i.e. without the experts).

By the way, that’s true for small businesses, ecommerce companies, and anybody interested in increasing organic traffic growth. So let’s dig in a little more! Pretty soon you could be ranking with loads of featured snippets like this:

Follow a solid SEO growth plan and you could rank with rich snippets like this.

Our goal in this post isn’t to give you a magic wand of SEO. Rather, we want to highlight one thing that is often missing when we take on new clients: an actual SEO Strategy.

SEO Growth is Driven by Strategy – Do You Have One?

Every business looking to build its online presence knows the importance of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Search around the web and you’ll find an endless number of SEO tips just waiting to be deployed.

  • But which ones…?
  • And how do you do that…?
  • Wait, I need what SEO tool…?

Before you get stuck down a digital marketing rabbit hole, heed this warning! All the SEO efforts under the sun are worth nothing if you don’t have a viable SEO strategy to begin with.

Let’s take a step back. You know SEO growth is possible – that’s why you are here. We just need to find out “how” it’s possible. That’s the idea behind our Galactic Growth Blueprint 🚀

If you want SEO growth, you need a plan, not a bunch of tactics. So today, we’re going to show you our process for creating SEO strategies that always lead to top search results.

Part 1: Understanding Growth SEO

If we were having coffee in some bustling café, we could easily have a nice chat about growth marketing & growth strategy. It would meander a lot, we’d laugh a bit, and we might even learn a thing or two.

But when the conversation gets to SEO and business growth, we’d be suddenly tongue-tied… because there isn’t much to say! And that’s actually a good thing 😎

Let’s answer this obvious question first:

Why Should You Care About SEO Growth?

It’s a simple formula:

More targeted website traffic = More qualified leads and/or sales.

See? Not much more to say!

Now, there are a million and one ways to increase website traffic, but SEO is one of the best. For starters, the ROI of SEO has been estimated as high as 500%. Plus, SEO is often overlooked, making the initial gains very fruitful.

But perhaps the best thing about SEO: it’s possible to know EXACTLY what people are searching for.

Let me show you what I mean.

Finding Your Target Audience in Search

SEO is one of the rare marketing channels where powerful data is easily available. So how do we tap into it? The best data is found by looking at what Google searches people are doing.

The good news is that Google actually publishes its organic search data in their keyword tool. That’s right – anybody can access it! They give this data away because it helps them with their $150 billion+ Google ads business 💰

By using Google’s keyword tool, we can determine a lot about our target audience:

  1. Who They Are (Demographics)
  2. What They Are Searching (Keywords)
  3. How Many of Them There Are (Search Volume)

1. Who They Are (Demographics)

So who is your target audience? Luckily, they’ll tell us! We can get a lot of information by looking at the keywords. Take a look at this:

keyword demographics

If you are a roofing company trying to work in Tombouctou, not many people are searching for your services. The number of people searching could be as low as 10 per month.

keywords show search volume

Now, if you are a roofing company operating in British Columbia, Canada, your outlook is a lot brighter. We can see from this data that up to 1000 searches per month are taking place.

A big part of the “who they are” question is about where they live. If you operate in a specific region or state, this is vital information to base your SEO growth plans on.

2. What They are Searching (Keywords)

Keywords are the first thing we look at with any client at our SEO agency. They can tell you so much about your target audience.

For example, let’s say you are a SaaS company with an online PDF converter as one of your products. Check out these keywords:

SEO growth starts with keywords

There are a huge number of people searching for a “free” solution. That could mean that fewer people are willing to actually pay for the solution. We could say that these people do not have a “commercial search intent” necessarily.

Does that mean your solution is DOA? Not exactly. But it’s definitely an example of something you’d consider when creating your SEO growth plans.

3. How Many of Them ARE THERE (Search Volume)

Like we said earlier, more traffic = more customers. That’s generally true, but consider this caveat: SEO is also about attracting quality traffic. Once that’s done, we work on improving user experience and ultimately converting visitors into loyal customers.

All that is to say that our SEO growth strategy should include a blend of quantity and quality. Quality traffic stays on our site longer and converts more (Google likes that). But the quantity of traffic matters to Google as well.

If that sounds a bit mystical, don’t worry. Here’s the general rule of thumb:

Keywords with more volume are:

Very competitive and/or near the top of the funnel (customers not yet ready to buy)

Keywords with less volume are:

Less popular and/or closer to the bottom of the funnel(customers are ready to buy)

Another way to think about it: broad keywords = broad audience.

The reason I am stressing this is two-fold:

  1. If you only target the highest volume keywords, you’re not going to have any success.
  2. It’s very difficult to rank for high volume keywords initially.

That’s a very long way of saying that if you want SEO growth, you’ll need a comprehensive strategy. If you want to be successful, it should consider both search behavior and search volume.

Part 2: A Comprehensive Approach to SEO Growth

As pros in the field, we have our own framework for the SEO services we provide. No matter what size of business, no matter what state of SEO maturity, we follow this framework.

And guess what? There’s no reason why you can’t follow it either!

We begin by understanding the strengths and weaknesses of a client’s current SEO strategy. Through comprehensive website audits, advanced keyword research, and competitor analysis, we pinpoint your SEO position in your specific industry.

This is where our Galactic Growth Blueprints comes into play. In a sense, it is the most important part of our framework. That’s because it lays the foundation for everything we do afterward.

Once we identify your strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, we craft a robust SEO strategy. This could be a content strategy and/or a local SEO strategy. The goal is to capitalize on unexplored areas and trends in your niche.

The strategy could include key elements like:

  • Relevant content marketing (blog posts, website content)
  • Inbound marketing (lead magnets, forms)
  • Social media optimization
  • Off-page and on-page SEO

We then put the plan into action. From creating SEO optimized content to technical SEO implementation, we help you reach the top of SERPs.

At this stage, we’d aim to create content, do local SEO, and handle all important SEO tasks defined in the strategy.

SEO growth is a continuous process. Once you achieve top rankings, we continue monitoring performance, analytics, and ongoing SEO optimization to keep you there.

Part 3: Experience Galactic SEO Growth
